- For men: that you shave your chest area for the pads to stick.
- For either sex: that you have not used creams or lotions in the chest area as this will interfere with the pads ability to stick.
The cancer screening programmes for England are nationally coordinated; they are the NHS breast screening programme, the NHS cervical screening programmes and the NHS bowel cancer screening programme.
The GP does offer a prostate cancer injection service after diagnosis. Please enquire for further information on this.
There is an NHS abdominal Aortic Aneurysm screening programme that takes place for every male in the Nottinghamshire area turning 65. The screening service will notify you or you can ring the service on 0115 924 9924 (ext 62394 or 62378).
We offer flu vaccinations during the season for all our over 65 patients, at risk patients, and pregnant patients.

GP’s can complete any medicals and forms for our patients only.

We offer appointments in our baby clinic which is run on a Wednesday afternoon.
Our admin team will contact you with an appointment for your babies immunisation.
We offer appointments in our nurses clinics for COPD, asthma, diabetes, hypertension, epilepsy and any other long term condition.
We will contact you with an appointment to attend in your birth month. If you do not receive a letter please let us know.
We offer a variety of health checks, please book an appointment with our nurses.
For patients of Family Medical Centre, we offer a family planning service in our nurse clinics, please book an appointment. Alternatively contact the family planning centre on 01623 848802.
If you are going abroad and need travel vaccinations we offer this service in our nurses clinic.
Please collect a form from the reception and let us know where you are going and when.
Please leave at least 6 weeks before you travel. We will then advise you on which vaccines you require and can offer you an appointment, Please ensure that you book the appointment at least 4 weeks before you travel.
We provide a variety of blood tests and nursing services.
For ‘fasting blood tests’ you need to have fasted from midnight the night before your test. It is very important that you do not eat or drink anything other than water from then, you can take any usual medication.
We are unable to provide blood tests on children
If you are housebound please inform the receptionist and they can arrange for the community phlebotomy team to come out to you.
Results: Allow at least one week for the results to come back, the reception team will contact you sooner if the GP wishes a follow up to be actioned.
Our reception team is not trained to interpret the results of any investigation. Please do not ask them to do so. If you wish to discuss your results then please make an appointment with your doctor.
